Preschool

 

 

Now Available - 3 Year Old Preschool Program!

Mater Dolorosa School is happy to announce that we are offering a Preschool program for three year olds for the 2011-2012 school year.  The cost per day is $27.   When registering for preschool, $54 (two days) must be paid and will be credited towards the first two days of attendance.  Children must attend a minimum of two days per week.  All students must be "potty trained".  For further information, please call the school office at (413) 532-2831.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The goal of Mater Dolorosa Preschool is to provide our preschool children with positive opportunities for growth by:

 

  • Recognizing the special nature of the preschool experience

  • Helping each child recognize their self worth as an individual and their ability to contribute as part of a group

  • Creating an atmosphere conducive to learning, fun and social development

  • Integrating the pre-school program into the spiritual life of the Mater Dolorosa School and Parish communities

  • Offering opportunities to develop social and learning skills which will ensure a successful transition to full day kindergarten.

Administration and Staff

The preschool is under the administration of the Pastor of Mater Dolorosa Parish and Principal of Mater Dolorosa School.  The program is staffed by a full time teacher certified by the Massachusetts Department of Education.  Additional staffing is in compliance with state and diocesan regulations.

 

Tuition

The 2011-2012 Preschool per day rate is $27. Upon enrollment, your child is guaranteed a slot in the 2, 3, 4 or 5 day program.  Tuition credits will not be given for any day that your child does not attend because of snow days, short term illness or personal family reasons. If an extra activity day is added, payment for the extra day is due on that day. Tuition is due the first of every month with a late payment fee of $10 assessed if payment has not been received by the 15th of the month. Preschool tuition is separate from that of any other tuition payment due to Mater Dolorosa School.

 

Enrollment

All preschool students must be toilet trained to be qualified for the program. Please call the school for age requirements for our 3-year old program.

 

Schedule

The five day a week program follows the Mater Dolorosa School schedule.  Preschool begins at 8:00 a.m. with dismissal at 2:00 p.m.  Parents have the option to enroll their child for a 2, 3, 4 or 5 day week. Our school follows guidelines set forth by the Holyoke Public School System.

 

Lunch and Snacks

Children enrolled in the Preschool Program are welcome to participate in the school's hot lunch program.  Lunch is available at $3.00 per day.  Chocolate or white milk is also available at $.50 for children who choose to bring cold lunch. Mater Dolorosa Preschool will provide a healthy snack to the children each morning.  Milk or juice will be provided with the morning snack.  PARENTS ARE ADVISED TO INFORM THE TEACHER OF ANY ALLERGIES THEIR CHILD MAY HAVE.
