Dear Families,

I am very excited and blessed to become the new principal of Mater
Dolorosa School. With me I bring many years of experience from both the
parochial and public schools in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
Here in the Springfield Diocese I have taught at Holy Cross in
Springfield and St. Agnes School in Dalton. I hold a Bachelor's degree
in Elementary Education from Salve Regina University and a Master's
degree in Educational Administration from the American International
College. I am also an active parishioner and Eucharistic Minister from
St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire. My husband Shawn and I
have been married for twenty-two years and we have four children: Sarah,
Mary, John, and Joseph. We also have two beautiful grandchildren:
Alexis and Liam. In my free time I like to play with my grandchildren,
travel, and watch football. I am an avid New England Patriot's fan!
As I begin my tenure here at Mater Dolorosa I hope to meet you all very
soon and build a strong home-school-parish relationship. We welcome
you into our building and encourage you to contact the main office if
you would like to help out in any way. The faculty and
staff here are amazing and we will work tirelessly to assure that your
children receive the best spiritual and educational experience
possible. We have many exciting changes coming for the new school year
and hope that you will help get the word out about how wonderful our
school really is.
May God bless you and your family in the coming school year.
Mrs. Tracey Tierney
